How the Program Works

• Welcome & Inclusion Activity: Establishes respectful collaboration and active listening.
• Collaborative Story Construction: Students create imaginative narratives in small groups, developing character, setting, and plot.
• Photography & Media Skills: Introduction to camera techniques, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Applied Media Production: Students capture images that communicate their narrative ideas.
• Presentations & Reflection: Groups present their work and reflect on their learning process.

Students will:

• Build Cultural Awareness and Empathy: Through characters and settings drawn from different cultures and life contexts, help children appreciate diverse human experiences and identities. 
• Support Inclusive Expression: Encourage children to articulate their ideas both verbally and visually, while respecting and validating different styles and paces of communication. 
• Foster Imaginative Thinking: Encourage children to construct original stories using culturally diverse prompts, expanding their worldview and narrative range. 
• Develop Visual Communication Skills: Teach children how to express ideas and emotions visually through photography—supporting communication beyond words, which is especially valuable for students with language or learning challenges. 
• Promote Cooperative Learning: Assign varied group roles that allow every child, regardless of ability, background, or learning style, to participate and contribute meaningfully.

Important Information

This incursion integrates English, Media Arts, and Personal & Social Capability through collaborative storytelling and visual media production. Students move from imaginative text creation to hands-on photography, concluding with structured presentations and reflection.

• Sufficient chairs and tables for all students, arranged to support small group collaboration. 
• Filming Space, where possible, access to an open indoor or outdoor area for student filming activities. 
• Our trained facilitators will arrive 1 hour before the session to set up and prepare
• The session can be flexibly scheduled to fit your school timetable
• A deposit secures your booking
• Invoicing is based on confirmed student numbers
• Teacher supervision is recommended throughout the program
• Please inform us of any changes on the day so we can adjust arrangements if needed
